Juris Zemītis Wins FK Prize 2017 at Riga Photomonth

The organizers of the Riga Photomonth photo festival announced the name of the winner of the FK Prize, an award for young Latvian photographers. This year, the main prize went to Juris Zemītis for a project called So Fake, It’s Real that he created while working in film production. He will receive a Sony ILCE-6000 camera as a prize, and his series will soon be published in FK and Bird In Flight magazines.

The project by Zemītis was the best among 10 projects shortlisted by the jury. The shortlist also includes Annemarija Gulbe, Arta Kauliņa, Elīna Semane, Elizabete Ezergaile, Adelīna Darviņa, Laima Vainiņa, Santa Spīlberga, Toms Šķēle, and Veronika Geida.
