Instagram of the Day: Ecuadorian Pilot Photographs Storms from His Cockpit
Santiago Borja captures impressive views on his flights.
Ecuador Airlines pilot Santiago Borja has an Instagram account where he posts photographs of storms and lightning taken from a passenger plane. He takes a camera with him on each flight and tries to capture the views from several thousand meters.
One of Borja’s photographs was shortlisted for last year’s National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year. The photograph captures a lightning bolt striking during a storm in the Pacific Ocean.
