Author of District 9 Releases a New Short Film
The characters of the experimental story are soldiers who are confronted by an unknown creature in Vietnam.
Neill Blomkamp released the second of four experimental short films that he plans to make, The Verge reports. The new film called Firebase takes place in 1970 in Vietnam. The main character named Hines, together with a CIA agent, is confronted by an unknown creature, the River God. The creature can warp space and time, and influence people’s minds.
The main character in the first film of the series is played by Sigourney Weaver. The movie takes place in 2020, when humanity is confronted with an alien invasion.
Blomkamp told The Verge that the next short film will be called Zygote and will feature Dakota Fanning.
