Flickr Summed Up the Year 2015
Flickr posted a collection of the results of 2015 based on several billion photographs uploaded by the users in the past 11 months. In the report the authors named the best photographs, the most popular places and the main themes of the uploaded images.
The three most popular cities where the photographs were taken are London, Paris and New York City, and the main themes of the year on Flickr were protests in Baltimore, photos from Kirsty Mitchell’s project Wonderland and the archive of Apollo lunar missions, published in early October.
Joe St. Pierre from Boston, Reese Herrington from California and Kris Williams from North Wales got hte most views.
Additionally, about 42% of all images published on the photo hosting, were taken with iPhone, 27% on Canon EOS cameras and 16% on D-series Nikon cameras.
Also, with the help of the algorithm, which counts the number of views, likes and other parameters, the authors identified the best photographs, uploaded by the users this year.
