Microsoft Created an App That Determines Dog Breed by Photo
The company continues to improve its image recognition technology.
Microsoft presented a new app, What Dog, that can determine the breed of a dog by photo, TJournal writes. The service allows users to test the ability of the algorithm to determine a dog breed by default photos, or they can upload their own image.
Mitch Goldberg, a development director at Microsoft Research in the UK, said that the company wanted to test the object recognition technology on a certain domain — in this case, on dogs.
“We were interested in enabling an app to allow you to make object recognition extraordinary, fun, and surprising, — Goldberg added.
Microsoft presented a similar algorithm earlier, which can recognize human emotions on photos.
