Video of the Day: Underwater Fishing in Cenote
The Ad for Ballantine's Scotch whisky was shoot 30 meters underwater.
It took two weeks for the photographer Benjamin Von Wong, his team of thirteen people and model Lance Lee Davis, to prepare for a photo session for Ballantine’s Scotch whisky’s in Cenote not far from the Mexican town Tulum. The film crew dived at about 30 m working close to a dangerous toxic layer of hydrogen sulfide. The gas created the effect of a white cloud similar to a river.
“The layer is so unique that to not film in or near it would have been a huge missed opportunity,” said Adam Booth, Archer’s Mark’s head of production.
Lance Lee Davis had to hold his breath for minutes at a time because an oxygen mask was only available between takes.
