Sports Illustrated Published Photographs from a Football Match Taken with iPhone 7 Plus
On September 11, Sports Illustrated published a photo report from an American football match between the Titans and the Vikings, captured by the magazine’s photographer with an iPhone 7 Plus. The sales in the US start only on September 16, so the photographs are most likely part of an advertising campaign for Apple’s new smartphone.
Apple CEO Tim Cook shared the Sports Illustrated article on his Twitter feed and said these were the first photographs taken with iPhone 7 Plus.
iPhone7, which was presented at the I/O press conference on September 7, has a 12-megapixel main camera with a f 1/1.8 diaphragm and optical image stabilization and 7-megapixel front-facing camera. iPhone 7 Plus will have two 12-MPx cameras (wide angle and long focus). The body of both phones is dust- and moisture-proof.
Om Malik, the founder of GigaOm and a partner at TrueVentures venture fund, wrote in his article for The New Yorker that the camera on the new iPhone ‘drives a stake through the heart’ of compact cameras, and explained why producers of these devices could never catch up with Apple.
