Video: How the Geometry of the Frame Influences the Perception of Movies

Now You See It showed how using different geometric shapes impacts the viewer.

The authors of a blog about movies called Now You See It released a short video where they showed how geometric shapes on screen impact the viewer and how filmmakers exploit this when creating movies, Gizmodo writes.

The video says that the human brain assigns certain meanings to certain shapes: for instance, in animated films positive characters are almost always drawn in a way that their features include a circle shape. Negative characters are, on the contrary, created with the help of triangles.
