Photographer Shows How He Takes Realistic Photos of Cars with the Help of Their Miniature Models

Vatsal Kataria says it takes him between one day and about a week to work on one scene.

PetaPixel published a series of photographs which show photographer Vatsal Kataria from India take realistic photographs of cars with the help of toy models. Kataria creates all the props necessary for the final scene by himself, imitating various landscapes and weather conditions.

“I started miniature photography as an experiment,” the photographer says. “But slowly and slowly I learned a lot in this genre. My motive is to encourage everyone that you can be creative and great photographer — it’s not just expensive gear and props,”

He also says that sometimes he doesn’t buy miniature cars, but makes them himself: “I can buy models but I prefer making them in the cheapest way possible. It improves my skills.”
