July Photo Contests

$10,000 for the best self-published photobook, a grant for female photojournalists, prestigious prize from The London Group and other opportunities in July.

At the beginning of each month Bird In Flight updates you about photo contests for both professional photographers and photography lovers.

Take a View — Landscape Photographer of the Year 2017

Deadline: July 8, 2017.
Entry fee: £10 for one image, £25 for seven images, £30 for 15 images and £35 for 25 images.
Award: main prize of £10,000, five prizes of £1,000 and eight of £500.

British contest of landscape photography. To participate one does not have to be a British citizen, but photographs should capture British nature. Works submitted by participants under-17 will be evaluated in a separate category, its winner will get £1,000.

Monochrome Awards 2017

Deadline: July 9, 2017.
Entry fee: $20 per image for professionals and $15 for amateurs.
Award: $2,000 for the winner among professionals and $1,000 for the winner among amateurs.

An international contest of black and white photography. Submissions are accepted in 13 categories, including “Portrait”, “Wildlife”, and “Documentary.”

Amateur Photographer of the Year Competition

Deadline: July 29, 2017.
No entry fee.
Award: Sigma photography equipment worth £2,000.

An amateur photography contest. Runs eight rounds a year, participation in one of them is free of charge. This round’s theme is “Architecture and Urban Landscapes.”

Firecracker Photographic Grant

Deadline: August 1, 2017.
Entry fee: £10.
Award: £2,000 for the project implementation and coverage of expenses on printing and mounting of images.

A contest for female documentary photographers from European countries (not limited to European Union member countries). Unfinished projects on any subject are being accepted.

International Photographer of the Year 2017

Deadline: August 13, 2017.
Entry fee: $15 for amateurs and $20 for professional photographers.
Award: $1,500 and $2,500.

An international photography contest accepts submissions in 25 categories, including “Photojournalism”, “Sports”, and “Architecture.”

The London Group Open 2017

Deadline: August 29, 2017.
Entry fee: £20 for one entry, £35 for two and £45 for three entries.
Award: several awards totalling £7,000.

A contest for artists and photographers organized by one of the most prestigious artistic communities. Apart from the monetary prizes, the authors of the three best works will have a chance to participate in an exhibition at the Cello Factory.

Travel Photographer of the Year 2017

Deadline: September 25, 2017.
Entry fee: £15 for portfolio, emerging talents and video categories, £8 for single image categories, free for youth categories.
Award: £4,000 for the main winner, Fujifilm photo equipment for category winners.

International travel photography contest. The main prize includes the “Travel Photographer of the Year” title and £4,000; contestants who applied to two of the portfolio categories can qualify. The application can be submitted online and by regular post.

Anamorphosis Prize 2017

Deadline: November 1, 2017.
No entry fee.
Award: $10,000.

Contest for the best self-published book. Three winners will receive a special prize from the jury, twenty shortlisted books will be handed over to the MoMA library.
