French Graffiti Artist Produces Five New Works

The Paris artist Charles Levalet, who for the last several years has created witty graffiti on walls of Paris houses, published photos of the work he has created thus far in 2015. There are five new pieces: “Pastorale,” which depicts a shepherd sitting under the umbrella with sheep; “Patience,” which features a man watering a plant, growing near the wall; “Reload” shows three men connected to “Matrix”; “Fortress” was made with cardboard boxes; and “Minotaure,” which uses bucranium bas-relief.

Work of Levalet can be easy recognized, all his graffiti is black-and-white, and the artist uses part of buildings as a basis for his pictures, an airshaft or hole in a wall, stairs, bar screens or air conditioners.

“I was looking for places and contexts to operate. The street became a creative space I had to invade,” says the artist.
