Tokyo Bans Drones in Parks

After a drone carrying radioactive material landed on the roof of the prime minister's residence, Tokyo's metropolitan government banned drones in city parks.

Tokyo’s metropolitan government banned drones in 81 public parks. The fine for using a drone could be as high as $400.

According to the BBC the decision was made after a protester, Yasuo Yamamoto, landed a drone carrying radioactive material on the roof of the prime minister’s residence. Yamamoto explained he was protesting the Japanese government’s nuclear energy policy.

Tokyo said drones also pose a danger to children, reported The Japan News.
