September Photo Contests

€50,000 grant for photojournalists, international biennial of student photography, $20,000 for plane tickets from Turkish Airlines and other possibilities of the month in our selection.

At the beginning of each month Bird in Flight updates you about photo contests for both professional photographers and photography lovers.

PhotoVisa 2015

Deadline: September 6, 2015.
Award: participation in PhotoVisa festival’s photo exhibition.
No entry fee.

This year’s topic for the festival is “The Language of Memory.” Works are being accepted in three categories: single photograph, photo series (up to 15 images) and multimedia project (up to 200 seconds long). Among the judges – photographic artist Alejandro Almaraz, LensCulture’s editor-in-chief Jim Casper and art manager Moritz Neumüller.

Working Artist Photography Award

Deadline: September 17, 2015.
Award: $1,000.
Entry fee: $25.

Monthly contests for photographers and photo artists, organized by Working Artist community. Participants must send five pieces of work (or the link to the website) to photographyaward@workingartist.org. There are no limitations regarding the style or technique used, digital processing (including glitch) is allowed.

Neutral Density Photography Awards

Deadline: September 27, 2015.
Award: $2,500 for the grand prize winner, $500 for each of the six category winners among professionals, $1,300 for the winner among amateur categories.
Entry fee: for professionals — $25 per image, $30 per series (two to five images), for amateurs — $20 and $25 respectively.

Open photography contest for professional and amateur photographers. Works are being accepted in 11 categories, among which – Advertising, Architecture, Nature and Editorial Photography.

Skylife Photo Contest

Deadline: October 1, 2015.
Award: flight tickets for $15,000, $5,000 and $20,00 for three winners, participation in the exhibition, medals.
No entry fee.

Photography contest organized by Turkish Airlines. To participate, one needs to upload up to four color or black and white photographs that have never been published before.

Darkroom Gallery Photo Contest

Deadline: October 7, 2015.
Award: portfolio-review, photo prints, participation in the exhibition.
No entry fee.

Photo contest organized by the Darkroom Gallery. Main prize – participation in the exhibition and portfolio review given by photographer and collector Oliver Wason. This month’s topic is Oddity.

7th Carmignac Photojournalism Award

Deadline: October 11, 2015.
Award: €50,000.
No entry fee.

Yearly grant for photojournalists from the Fondation Carmignac. This year’s topic is Libya. Participants must send his or her portfolio and a photo story from the nominated region. The winner receives €50,000 for the implementation of the original photo contest, publication of the monograph and the organization of an international travelling exhibition.

Gomma Photography Grant 2015

Deadline: October 31, 2015.
Award: one €1,000 grant.
Entry fee: €10 till September 22, €15 later on.

Grant for the photo project continuation from the Gomma publishing house. Applicants must send 12-50 images from a current project that is planned to be finished in 18 months. There are no restrictions regarding the theme of the project, or the expenditure of the grant.

The World Biennial of Student photography

Deadline: November 1, 2015.
Award: €1,500, €800 and €400 for three winners, crystal medals, participation in the biennial.
No entry fee.

International contest for students having Photography as a university discipline. Participants must send up to three images in any style or technique.
