Hasselblad launches a new digital back for use with its film cameras

The device fits most of the brand's cameras manufactured after 1957

Swedish company Hasselblad announced a launch of a digital back CFV-50c for its iconic cameras that use film. It is compatible with practically all vintage V System camera models going back to 1957. The unit is equipped with a CMOS sensor with ISO values of up to 6400, and it has the ability to record, in addition to the RAW files, JPEG files of up to 12.5 MPixels. The price tag of the new gadget — €11,000.

Note: a digital camera back is a device that attaches to the back of a camera in place of a film holder and contains an electronic image sensor. This lets cameras that were designed to use film take digital photographs.
