Designers Draw 850 Versions of Logo for Russian Payment System
Designers from Russia continue to post their suggestions for a logo for the National System of Payment Cards. During the first week of submissions the jury received more than 850 submissions, which are available online. Some of the designs include: nationalistic elements, shapes of food coupons, fish, hands-shovels and interpretations of the Bogatyrs theme, as well as eagles, turnips, and rowanberries.
Competition for the best symbol for the National Payment System was opened by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on April 8th. Submissions will be accepted till end of April. On May 11th, the twenty best logos will be posted for online voting. The winner will receive 150,000 rubles.
The tight schedule for the competition was preconditioned by the economic sanctions against Russia introduced by the USA. The sanctions will disconnect the Russian banks from the processing centers of Visa and MasterCard. All internal operations of these cards from April 1st are provided by the National System of Payment Cards.
