Finalists of the Sony Photo Award are Named

On Tuesday, February 24th, the World Photography Organization announced the finalists for the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards. The jury selected the best images in three categories: Professional Competition, Young Award Open Competition.

The organizers stated that the highest number of applications in the history of the contest have been submitted this year. In total 175,444 images were submitted, 25 percent more than last year.

Works of the finalists will be presented at the London Gallery “Somerset House” from April 24th to May 10th. On the eve of the exhibition’s opening event, an American photographer Elliot Erwitt will receive the highest award for Outstanding Contribution to Photography.
