Muhammad Ali’s Last Ever Photos Are Published

Muhammad Ali, a boxing legend, died on Friday, June 3, aged 75. His death was caused by septic shock ‘due to unspecified natural causes’. The boxer had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

Two months before Ali’s death, British photographer Zenon Texeira took a series of portraits of a boxer at his home that were published only now, according to The Scottish Sun.

Texeira says that the three time world heavyweight champion was so weak he needed assistance to get into a chair. “It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to photograph one of the biggest icons this planet has ever seen. Muhammad was a delight to photograph. Muhammad Ali means a lot to so many people all over the world. His legacy will never be forgotten,” the photographer said.

Ali will be buried on June 10 in his native Louisville, Kentucky. The ceremony will be broadcast live. Bill Clinton will give the funeral speech, and the coffin will be carried by a former absolute world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis and Will Smith, who played Ali in his biopic.
