Chinese photographer wins Discovery Award 2014
Kechun Zhang became the recipient of Discovery Award 2014 at French festival Les Rencontres d’Arles, as well as of € 25,000 cash prize, according to The British Journal of Photography. His project The Yellow River is about life along the banks of Huang He, the second longest river in Asia.

Besides Zhang, nine other contenders were nominated by the experts for the award. However, professional photographers and media representatives gave preference to The Yellow River.
Discovery Award is a prestigious award that goes to a newly discovered photographer or an artist. Zhang’s pieces, as well as those by the other nine nominees, will be showcased at Parc des Ateliers in Arles till the 21st of September.
