The Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award will be given for the first time. The award was established after Pulitzer Prize-winning AP photographer Anja Neidringhaus was killed last year while covering the president elections in Afghanistan. Annually, the International Women’s Media Foundation will award the $20,000 prize a woman photojournalist whose work reflects the courage and dedication of Anja Niedringhaus.
The award will be presented to Levine at a ceremony in Berlin on June 25, 2015.
