Link of the Day: Vintage Posters to Modern Movies
Illustrations by Peter Stults show how modern movies could have looked like if they had been made several decades ago.
American designer Peter Stults posts illustrations to his project What If on his Behance page, where he reimagines posters to modern movies in retro style.
Among the illustrations he published are retro versions of posters for such movies as The Martian by Ridley Scott, Only Lovers Left Alive by Jim Jarmusch and Zodiac by David Fincher.
In his Wired interview the author said that he had the idea of the project in college, when he was drawing posters to imaginary movies, which he invented together with his friends. “I enjoy reading about film history. Especially the trivial bits like who was originally cast for a role, or a movie that never came to be due to studio politics, finance, or bad luck”, — Stults said.
