Photographers Get Married In Kenyan Savanna

Wildlife researchers celebrate their wedding according to Maasai tribal traditions.

Traveler and wedding photographer Jonas Peterson wrote in his blog about his wedding in Kenyan National Wildlife Reserve. Wildlife photographer Nina, who spent the last several years photographing lions, and her fiancé Sebastian decided to get married on tribal land in Maasai Mara. While preparing a photo book about wildlife in African savanna, Nina became close friends with the Maasai and invited them for the wedding. The bride said, that she considers the Maasai almost as close as family and therefore decided to follow their wedding traditions. Nina was wearing a traditional Maasai wedding necklace, called enkarewa. And, instead of Mendelsshon’s “Wedding March” she and her husband danced to the music and singing of Maasai people.
