Video: Chernobyl Zone Captured by Drone

British filmmaker Danny Cooke posted footage captured in the Ukrainian city of Pripyat by a drone. The video shows empty streets, abandoned houses, an amusement park and bird’s eye view of the town. Hannah Miller’s “Promised Land” is used as a background for the footage.

“There was something serene, yet highly disturbing about this place. Time has stood still and there are memories of past happenings floating around us,” says Danny Cooke.

He went to Pripyat for a 60 Minutes segment about the consequences of the Chernobyl accident. Cooke spent one week in the Chernobyl zone exploring the abandoned town and suburbs with a Ukrainian guide.
