The W. Eugene Smith Grant Is Open for Entries

The winner will receive $30,000 to complete a project.

W. Eugene Smith Fund announced that applications for the annual $30,000 Humanistic Photography Grant are now open, Time writes. The entries are accepted until May, 31.

In addition to the main grant, one or two authors whose work the jury will deem outstanding will also receive fellowships totaling in $5,000.

The winner of the last year’s contest was American photographer Matt Black, who has been documenting the life in the California’s Central Valley for the past two decades, aiming to draw attention to the economic hardship that the local population is facing.
