Link of the Day: Colorized Photographs from WWI

The collection includes several hundred color images.

The authors of a facebook group called WW1 Colourised Photos post colorized versions of black-and-white photographs from WWI on their page. In the last three years several artists from Colourise History group have been working on this project.

Doug Banks who first established the group said that he first attempted colorization after he tried it on a photo of his grandfather: “I was intrigued to know what he might have looked like ‘in the flesh’. After that one, I was ‘hooked’.”
