Artist Released a Book About How Passersby React on Her Being Overweight
Haley Morris-Cafiero studies how strangers react to her behind her back.
American artist Haley Morris-Cafiero announced the release of her photo book The Watchers, about how people react to her being overweight, Daily Mail writes. The book features photographs taken in cities all over the world in the past several years.
The author says, she first had the idea for this project in 2010, when she noticed a stragner in one of her photographs, who was smirking at her. “Since then, I set up the camera in public to see what happens as strangers pass by me.”
She managed to raise funds for her book last year through a Kickstarter campaign: Internet users donated about $25,000, while her initial goal was $15,000.
