Exhibition of Picasso’s Portraits Opens at the Edinburgh Art Festival
From July 30th to August 30th, Edinburgh is hosting the largest Art Festival in Great Britian. It showcases the works of more than 100 artists. The program unites examples of classic and contemporary art writes Independent.
The festival focuses on installation, sculpture and painting. It also hosts a range of photo exhibitions.
One of the highlights of the festival is an exposition of an American photographer, Lee Miller, who was a friend of Pablo Picasso for more than 30 years. She made more than one thousand images of the artist, and he painted her portrait six times. The exhibition includes the works of Picasso and Miller.
The forum includes portraits by David Bailey, a classic of British photography. And, the National Museum of Scotland presented about 1.5 thousand photos from the 19th century documenting the Victorian era.
The Edinburgh Art Festival is running for the ninth year. About 300,000 people visited last year.
