Van Gogh Museum Puts 1,800 Posters and Illustrations in Open Access

Most works are dated between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Employees at Vincent van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam digitized and put in open access about 1,800 vintage posters and illustrations, Hudruk writes. The entire collection is available at the website of the museum.

The archive includes several hundred French advertisements and theater posters from late 19th and early 20th centuries. All works are divided by categories and themes: for example, ‘Ornament’, ‘Urban Life’, or ‘Art Nouveau’.

Most exhibits are accompanied by some information about the author and what period and style they belonged to.
