Instagram of the Day: Metro Stations in Different Countries

Chris Forsyth travels around the world and photographs the city metro stations.

Canadian photographer Chris Forsyth posts photographs from the series #themetroproject on Instagram, dedicated to the beauty of metro stations in different countries.

The author says he first had the idea of this project in 2014 when he took several photographs in Montreal Metro. Every station in Montreal was designed by a different architect, that’s why they look so different.

Later Forsyth decided not to stop on Montreal and continue the series by taking similar photographs in other countries. Since then, he visited Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Prague, Stockholm, and several other cities.

“I hope to show how beautiful these public spaces can be, — the author says. — Traveling through these stations day in and day out can become very monotonous, and we can easily take for granted all of the gorgeous architecture, art and design around us.”
