Flash Mob of Women with Half Made-up Faces Collects 13,000 Photos

After the creator of a YouTube beauty account, NikkieTutorials, Nikkie de Jager published a video called The Power of Makeup, which shows how make up can change women’s appearance, girls from all over the world started posting photos with makeup and no makeup. Using the hashtag #ThePowerOfMakeup they post their half made-up selfies.

Flash mob started one and half months ago and still running. Girls posted to Instagram more than 13,000 images and video that launched the campaign has more than 17 million views.

Inspired by @nikkietutorials.. posting this picture to shut down make-up shamers with #thepowerofmakeup .. I don't wear make up on a daily basis, but I do when there are big occasions or when I'm cosplaying.. Therefore, I get a lot of comments when I do indeed put on make up.. It's either "you look so much better with/without make up on", "who are you trying to impress", "so fake", "she must hate herself to rely on so much make up", "this is why I don't trust girls" or "such an attention seeker".. I wear make up to express, not to impress.. I'm doing it for myself and not for pleasing anyone else.. I know I look different and I'm proud that I do as its a skill that I've tried achieving through my years of cosplaying..
