Photographer Took a Series of Selfies Styled as Inception

With the help of a drone, Canadian photographer achieved the Inception effect.

Canadian photographer Patrick Gilbert of North Bay, Ontario, published a series of selfies taken with a drone, PetaPixel writes. Landscape behind the photographer goes up, creating the Inception effect. Gilbert’s photo project is called #BendNorthBay.

Gilbert said he got the idea several years ago after watching a trailed to Chris Nolan’s movie. He wanted to draw attention to his native city by capturing it in an unusual way.

“These images are a lot more work than just going up at the right time of day and grabbing a quick shot while the light is nice,” Gilbert says. “Each one is a collage of 3-6 individual photos captured at different heights and angles.” Photographer likes it that with each next photograph he gets a better understanding of shooting locations and time of the day he needs to choose to have the best results. All selfies were taken with DJI Phantom 3 Pro drone and edited in Adobe Photoshop.
