A 24-year-old young man from Portugal smashed a 19th century statue of king Dom Sebastiao, which was decorating the facade of the Rossio railway station in Lisbon, PetaPixel writes.
Witnesses say that the man was trying to take a selfie, climbed on a pedestal, and accidentally toppled a 126-year-old statue.
The culprit tried to escape immediately after the accident, but was soon detained by local police. The authorities are currently estimating the value of the statue and cost of repair.
