New East Photo Weekend to Be Held by Calvert 22 Foundation
Calvert 22 Foundation invites photographers to attend the New East Photo Weekend, a two-day event that complements the New East Photo Prize exhibition featuring the works shortlisted for the award.
The schedule of the New East Photo Weekend includes masterclasses, panel discussions, one-on-one portfolio reviews, and print swaps. According to the organizers, the event “offers practical insight into contemporary photography”, addressing not only the creative aspects, but also the commercial side of the industry.
The confirmed speakers for the event include Donald Weber, a reknown Canadian documentary photographer, winner of two World Press Photo Awards and a member of VII Photo, Roger Tooth, Head of Photography at the Guardian and the Observer, Steven Mcleod, founder and director of Metro Imaging, and Olga Osipova, photo editor for Bird In Flight.
The New East Photo Prize is an international contest organized by Calvert 22 Foundation in association with The Guardian and Bird In Flight. 18 authors were shortlisted for the award. The winner will be announced in December.
