Photographer Who Captured the Assassination of the Russian Ambassador Won the World Press Photo
The jury of the 60th international photojournalism competition World Press Photo announced the winner of the 2017 Photograph of the Year: Turkish photographer Burhan Ozbilici with the image he took at the photo exhibition in Ankara where Andrei Karlov, the Russian Ambassador to Turkey, was assassinated, AP reports. The winners in other nominations will be announced shortly.
Last year, the winner was Warren Richardson of Australia. He won Photograph of the Year at WPP with his image, Hope for a New Life, which captured refugees at the border between Hungary and Serbia in late August 2015.
