British Gallery Removes Photos of Victorian Women after Complaints from Customers

The administration of The Cube Gallery in Hassocks, Britain decided to temporarily take down several of the exhibited photographs after the complaints from the visitors of the gallery, The Daily Mail writes.

It is reported that the photographs were taken in the Victorian era and depict naked or half-naked women. Several visitors of the exhibition, elderly ladies, were offended with the how candid the photographs were and demanded them to be taken down. They said the images were ‘absolutely disgusting and obscene.’

“We had three separate complaints from older ladies. They came in and said the photographs were absolutely disgusting,” Di Nee, one of the organizers of the exhibition, says. “We had three separate complaints from older ladies. They came in and said the photographs were absolutely disgusting.”

According to Mrs. Nee, after the complaints the organizers removed the pictures from the exhibition hall. Several days after, the gallery decided to exhibit them again, but posted a corresponding warning notice at the entrance.
