More Color Photos and Videos from the 1950s Shot by a US Diplomat in USSR Posted Online

Even more photographs will be published shortly.

Radio Liberty published more color photos and videos from the 1950s shot by a former US attache in the USSR Martin Manhoff. American historian Douglas Smith
announced that he discovered this archive in late January. He said that after Manhoff’s wife died he was asked to check the home of a former official for valuable memorabilia.

Smith promised to publish the photographs and footage that he discovered soon. The first part of the archive was posted in early March (the published materials included a color footage from Stalin’s funeral), and now the second part of the archive was released to the public.

The photographs and videos were shot by Manhoff between 1952 and 1954. They include the pictures taken in the streets of Moscow, Leningrad, Murmansk, Yalta, and other cities. The third part of the archive will be published shortly.
