Photo: Giant Hands Support a Historical Building in Venice
The sculpture was installed for the Venice Biennale.
A sculpture which looks like two hands that emerge from the water to support a historical building which houses Ca’ Sagredo hotel was installed in Venice. The work called Support was done by Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn, Colossal writes.
He says that this sculpture is the visualization of possible consequences of global warming and the resulting increase in sea level: the artist says that this process may be fatal for Venice.
“Venice is a floating art city that has inspired cultures for centuries,” Quinn adds. “But to continue to do so it needs the support of our generation and future ones.”
