Bird in Flight Prize '18
The jury of the Bird in Flight Prize international photography contest is ready to present the results.
Over the last two months, more than 350 applications from 49 countries have been reviewed with 10 photo series shortlisted. There are authors from Ukraine, Poland, the Netherlands, Russia, Greece, Armenia, and the US among the finalists.
The jury includes Maarten Schilt, founder and director of independent publishing house Schilt Publishing, curator Hester Keijser, and photographers Donald Weber, Arnis Balčus, Roger Ballen, Sasha Kurmaz, and Roman Pyatkovka.
The winner is Valentine Bo with “Your next step would be to do the Transmission” project.
The concept of the Bird in Flight Prize is to support photographers who think outside the box of traditional artistic standards and look for new ways to tell a story.
