A Time Capsule Left by the Nazis Was Found in Poland
A ‘time capsule’ left by the Nazis over 80 years ago was discovered in Zlocieniec, a city that was part of Germany in 1930s, The Daily Mail writes.
The researchers say they have known about it for a long time, but could gain access only now. To reach the capsule, which was placed inside the Ordensburg Krössinsee building in 1934 during construction, archaeologists needed to make their way through a thick layer of concrete and defuse several mines.
Inside the capsule, the scientists found coins, newspapers, several photographs, among them portraits of Adolf Hitler, as well as two copies of his book Mein Kampf. The research team noted that all discovered objects were very well preserved.
In the nearest future, the entire contents of the capsule will be kept in a museum in Szczecin, where the scientists will study them. Only after that they will be displayed for the general public.
