Company Shows the Performance of a Combat Humanoid Robot
American company MegaBots published a video where it showed the performance of MegaBot Mk.III human-piloted combat robot which was built especially for the future fight with the Japanese Kuratas, N+1 writes.
The coming duel of the humanoid machines was announced last year — after the Americans challenged Suidobashi Heavy Industry, a Japanese company: the representatives accepted the challenge, but on one condition — close combat of the two robots has to become part of the fight.
To prepare the robot for the combat and improve it, MegaBots launched a crowdfunding campaign, which helped them raise about $550,000. The company also started to shoot a series about the new prototype. In the latest episode, the authors explain how they tested the hands of the piloted robot: for this, the creators used Volkswagen Jetta III that the robot grabbed with its claws and lifted in the air.
In case the announced duel between the American and the Japanese robots takes place, it will be the first fight between combat humanoid robots in history. Similar models have earlier been designed only for entertainment and have not been used for fights.
