Hummingbird in Flight Captured with iPhone 6s

Photographer Jessica Dyer from Boston took slow-motion footage of the hummingbird in flight with iPhone 6s.

She installed a smartphone near the feeder where the hummingbirds come to drink water. Dyer notes that her iPhone 6s camera allowed her to capture the movement of the bird’s tongue and its features being ruffled with the wind.

Hummingbirds fly very fast — at the speed of up to 80 kmph. They flap their wings 10 to 100 times a second (depending on their breed and size). When they drink, their tongue goes up and down in the water about 20 times a second.
