Barack Obama’s Photographer Shares the Best Moments of 2016
American photographer Pete Souza, who has been the official White House Photographer for the past eight years, published a selection of the most memorable photographs that he and his colleagues took in 2016.
“As always, the editing for this project is both subjective and personal. Yes, there are some historic moments included but mostly I was looking for behind-the-scenes moments that give people a more personal look at the President and First Lady. And I’ve included a few that I thought were just cool photos,” Souza wrote.
The photographer publishes such selections each year. However, this will be the final one — with the end of Barack Obama’s presidential term, Souza will no longer work as a White House Photographer. “It’s been the honor of a lifetime to be a witness to history these past eight years,” he said.
