Infographic of the Day: Map of Vintage Photos of New York and San Francisco

American software engineer placed the images at points on the maps of two cities.

Software engineer Dan Vanderkam launched two web-sites: OldSF and OldNYC with photos featuring photos of the two cities from the past. He selected 53,000 images from the cities’ archives, found places where the images were taken, and marked them on a map. Vanderkam stated that his idea behind the project is to help people learn more about places they see daily. He is open for cooperation and asks for assistance from people who find errors in his work.
