Photo of the Day: Star WR 124 and Nebula M1-67

The distance between the Earth and the celestial bodies is 15,000 light years.

At the end of last week, the Image of the Day was published on the NASA website, which is a photo of two objects in the constellation of Sagittarius captured by Hubble Telescope.

In the photo we see the star Hen 2-427 — more commonly known as WR 124 — which is a Wolf-Rayet star, and the nebula M1-67 which surrounds it. Both objects lie 15,000 light-years away.

The first images of the star WR 124 and the nebula M1-67 were captured in 1998.
