The New York Public Library posted a collection of photographs by the American photographer Augustus Sherman on its blog on Flickr, taken between 1902 and 1914, of the immigrants who newly arrived in the US.
The collection of archive photographs was discovered in the documents of William Williams, who served as the Immigration Commissioner at the New York port on Ellis Island at the beginning of the 20th century.
