Infographic of the Day: Everything You Need to Know About National Flags
Ferdio, a Danish creative agency, presented an infographic called Flag Stories, where the authors analyzed the flags of 196 countries of the world and showed which colors and graphic solutions are the most popular in national symbols, Fast Co.Design writes.
Twenty different graphs demonstrate which colors and symbols are used more often than others, and what meaning people in different countries attach to different colors.
For instance, red most often symbolizes blood and bravery, whereas blue is associated with the sea and the sky. The authors say that there are only nine countries in the world that do not have at least one of these two colors on them.
There are separate graphs on history of the national symbols and on what flags of different countries look most similar.
