Holga Stops Making Cameras
The film camera became 'yet another casualty of the digital age'.
Holga distributor in the US Freestyle Photographic Services announced, that the head office will no longer be producing medium format cameras, PetaPixel writes.
“It is with a sad heart that we say goodbye to a camera that has been so popular with so many. Holga outlived many other cameras but is yet another casualty of the digital age”, — Freestyle CEO Gerald Karmele said.
As FPS representatives were informed by Holga, “all Holga tooling has already been thrown away and there is nothing available for sale”.
Holga cameras have been produced in Hong Kong since 1982, and became widely popular first in China, and then, after the 35-m film adaptor was developed, all over the world.
