Magnum Photography Awards 2016 Is Open for Entries
Magnum Photos and LensCulture magazine announced that they are admitting applications for Magnum Photography Awards, organized to celebrate the agency’s 70th anniversary. The submission closes on May 24, 2016.
The organizers will choose 12 winners and 20 finalists in six main categories: Documentary, Street, Portrait, Fine Art, Photojournalism, and Open. Several more authors will receive Student Spotlight and Jurors’ Picks awards.
“We hope [the competition] will attract diverse photographic practices from all over the world. We view this new Award as an opportunity for our dedicated audience — and the photography community at large — to share in our celebrations, — Martin Parr, President of Magnum Photos, said.
Martin Parr is also a juror, along with David Alan Harvey, photographer and Magnum Photos member, Newsha Tavakolian, Iranian photojournalist, and Stacey Baker, photo editor at New York Times magazine.
