Link of the Day: Sketchbook of a Trip from Moscow to Vladivostok

Illustrator Katya Guschina conveyed the main features and the general atmosphere of a trip across Russia in her drawings.

Moscow illustrator Katya Guschina posted a digital version of sketchbook drawings about her trip from Moscow to Vladivostok on her Behance profile. There are more than thirty illustrations in the series, through which the author tried to convey main features and the general atmosphere of the trip.

“I am really keen on two things: travelling and sketching. I am a student in Moscow, so I spend a lot of time on trains on my way home to Nizhny Novgorod. This is where my interest to railway comes from. When I started my first year at the university, I got an opportunity to combine my interests in one project — a sketchbook about Transsib”, — the author says.

She explains that she used referred to websites, blogs and books about Trans-Siberian Railway to create each drawing, as well as memories of her friends and relatives, who have done the same trip.
