New Zealanders Chose the Best Version of the New Flag

They will have the chance to replace the old flag via the referendum in March 2016.

Voting for the best version of the new state flag finished in New Zealand, CNN writes. The project with the fern leaf and four stars on black and blue background had 50,53% votes.

The second stage of the referendum is planned for March 2016. The citizens of New Zealand will need to choose between the current national flag and the new design.

The main reason to change the flag of New Zealand, which has been in place since 1902, is its similarity with Australian national flag.
